NCGA 'Outraged' at Statements on Biofuels . The National Corn Growers Association says it is "outraged" by recent statements on biofuels made by United Nations independent expert Jean Ziegler. Among the egregious statements Ziegler made is the claim that food crops for biofuels are a "crime against humanity."
USDA: Favorable Harvest Weather USDA's Joint Ag Weather Facility says mild, dry weather favors a rapid pace of Midwest corn and soybean harvesting. "In the southern and eastern Corn Belt, emerging winter wheat is benefiting from warmer weather and recent soil moisture improvements," they add.
USDA Announces Corn Sale Private exporters reported to USDA export sales of 167,640 metric tons of corn for delivery to Japan during the 2007/2008 marketing year. The marketing year for corn began Sept. 1.
ABARE Again Lowers Australian Wheat Crop AgWeb.com Editors The Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) has updated its crop forecasts for wheat, lowering the figure to 12.1 million metric tons (MMT), down from their prior forecast of 15.5 MMT.
