Instructions for Brand Application
The fee to register a new brand design is $75.00. Do not send any money until you receive the Brand approval letter from the brand department.

If the brand ownership is to be in more than one name, "OR" or "AND" must be specified between names. Brands registered in business names must have the signatures of two (2) authorized persons. A copy of the business organizational papers must be provided (i.e.: Articles of Incorporation, Partnership Agreement, Articles of Organization, etc.).

Social Security number or Tax Identification number must be provided for all specified brand owners.

Complete mailing address and telephone number (if any) must be provided.

All specified owners must sign the Brand Application. All signatures must be notarized. Those not properly notarized will be returned. If all parties involved in the transfer are unable to appear before a notary at the same time, a separate notary acknowledgement may be attached for additional signatures.

The brand design must be clearly drawn in the specified box. Two (2) or three (3) design choices may be submitted if clearly specified "1st choice, 2nd choice, etc.

The brand location must be provided and must be a single location (i.e. left rib, left hip, right shoulder, right thigh, etc).

Earmarks are optional. You may not choose an earmark that duplicates one being used by neighboring livestock owners.

Please provide the range (nearest city/town) and the county where the livestock will be located. Do not use the legal description of your property.

Brand requests must be researched and advertised for a period of thirty (30) days. PLEASE NOTE: The research and advertising period may take up to 90 days. Do not brand your livestock until you have received your brand certificate.
